Are Men More Active Than Women?

Researchers find women around the world are lazier on average than the guys

Perhaps there is a little something to that stereotype of women lying around the house all day eating bonbons after all.

Time reports that a new study published in the Lancet looked at physical activity across the globe and found that in 122 countries, 34 percent of women are inactive, while 28 percent of men tend to loll around.

What equals inactive? According to the magazine, the researchers consider it to be “less than 30 minutes of moderate activity five days a week or 20 minutes of vigorous activity three times a week.” And, just FYI, people in Bangladesh are serious movers, with just 4.7 percent considered inactive, while the good folks of Malta are the most inactive, with 72 percent qualifying for that rating, Time adds.

Maybe they just have really good bonbons there.
