Put the 2012 presidential election in the well-manicured hands of female voters and President Obama has got a re-election on lock.
Today reports a new USA Today/Gallup poll finds 60 percent of women younger than 50 in 12 important swing states would vote for the sitting prez.
Overall, the poll shows Obama support at 51 percent, compared with Mitt Romney’s 42 percent (that’s 30 percent for the female demographic), according to the news show.
“I think this is an Anita Hill moment for my generation,” the National Organization for Women’s Erin Matson, citing the current contraception debate, tells Today. “What we’re seeing as young women is this galvanizing moment.”
