Think you could totally be as productive working from your living room as you are chained to your cubicle? Oh, you’re obviously a worker bee and not a boss.

BusinessNewsDaily reports that while supervisors and their employees would both love to work from home, most bosses just don’t buy that production rates would be better.

According to Microsoft Canada’s Flexible Workplaces survey, 55 percent of employees said they’d knock out all their assignments if they telecommuted, but just 25 percent of bosses believed it, the news service adds.

However, 42 percent of bosses say they are cool with more folks working out of the office, BusinessNewsDaily reports.

“What we once considered the traditional office is changing,” Microsoft Canada’s James Nicholson tells the news service. “More and more customers, colleagues and technology partners are finding themselves taking business calls from airport waiting lounges, reviewing work documents as they wait at the dentist office or sit on the train, or running important personal errands during their work day.”
