Mothers are pretty much required to have this multitasking thing down. Perhaps that’s why new research is finding, despite the stereotypes, that working moms make excellent employees.
Forbes reports recent data show that absences from work stemming from injury, illness or other medical problems are often two to three times more frequent than absences due to “child care problems; other family or personal obligations; civic or military duty; and maternity or paternity leave.”
“Clearly, providing a small accommodation to pregnant employees saves the employer and our economy money in the long run,” Dina Bakst, the co-founder and co-president of A Better Balance: The Work & Family Legal Center, tells Forbes.
