Whether you're looking for a quick fix or want to create your own, hair masks are the best way to repair hair and keep it healthy. Here are our favorite products from the store and a few recipes for DIY hair masks.

1. Dry Hot-Oil Treatment for All Hair Types
What you'll need:

  • 1 Tbsp. organic coconut oil
  • 3–5 drops of tea tree oil

Here's how to make it.

  1. Microwave coconut oil until it becomes a liquid, approximately 10 seconds. Add tea tree oil.
  2. Apply the oil to dry hair, beginning at your scalp and working down to the ends.
  3. Leave in for 10 to 20 minutes; then shampoo and condition as usual.

Add-ins for your hot-oil treatment, based on hair type:

Jojoba oil: Good for oily hair. Jojoba is like our natural hair oils, but it will leave hair light and soft and won't weigh it down.
Coconut oil: Good for all hair types. It will give hair a shiny boost and is also helpful against flaking or dandruff!
Castor oil: Good for oily or easily breakable hair. It has drying properties but is also great for building strength.
Sesame oil: Good for any hair type. Use to add conditioning and shine, to slow down hair loss, and to treat thinning hair.
Avocado oil: Good for dry or frizzy hair. It's one of the most moisturizing oils you can give your hair.
Argan oil: Good for dry hair. Use to add shine and moisture.
Neem oil: Amazing for dandruff.

2. Avocado Banana Hair Mask to Grow and Fortify
What you'll need:

  • ½ avocado, mashed
  • ½ banana, mashed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 T. olive oil

Here's how to make it.

  1. Puree avocado and banana together until no clumps are present.
  2. Add in beaten egg and olive oil. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Apply to dry hair and leave in for 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse with cool water. (Warm or hot water will cook the egg.)
  5. Shampoo. Repeat if needed. Use once a month.

3. Honey Hair Mask to Moisturize and Hydrate
What you'll need:

  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 1 full glass milk (we used almond milk)

Here's how to make it.

  2. Massage into wet hair from root to tip.
  3. Leave on for 15 minutes.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water.
