Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer, $190
What It Is: This tool is a precision hair dryer designed for use by stylists at Drybar salons. Buttercup has an extremely powerful motor to produce professional blowouts in the comfort of your own home. This blow dry gets the job done fast, efficiently and leaves the hair visibly smooth and frizz-free.
Why You Should Try It: I have relatively thick, long hair so I bought a $50 blow dryer from Ulta because it "claimed" to be better than other hair dryers. I was still taking me about 20 minutes to completely dry my hair and that was very frustrating. No one wants to stand there blowing heat onto themselves for that long. Luckily I found the solution—Buttercup! This blow dryer is worth EVERY penny. I was shocked at how fast it dried my hair and the fact that I didn't feel like it produced an excessive amount of heat to do so. It dried my hair in less than 10 minutes—that's half the time it was taking—because of its sheer power and preciseness. It left my hair with more volume, silkier strands and feeling fresher than it ever has. I 100 percent recommend this to anyone and everyone. —Katelyn Herlein, e-commerce editor

Shu Uemura Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray, $38
What Is It: This is a dry finishing spray that provides your hair with long-lasting, buildable texture. Finish off your look with a spray that increases volume, thickens fine hair and leaves your tresses soft and moveable.
Why You Should Try It: I really liked this product and its fresh smell. It's a bit of a splurge but a little goes a long way. This is must-needed in the summertime to create effortless beach waves, tousled perfection, or add texture to a braid. It also helped tame my curls and keep them intact against the high humidity. I would recommend a shine spray, like Shu Uemura Detail Master, with this product if you have clean hair because it can leave it a little matte. If your hair is day old, it doubles as a dry shampoo to help soak up the unwanted oil. —Katelyn Herlein, e-commerce editor

Why You Should Try It: Although it can be used daily, I prefer to treat my hair with this product once or twice a week because I find it too pricey to use more often. Since I’ve started using this hair mask, I have definitely noticed a difference – even if I only apply it once a week – as my hair is easier to comb through when wet and is more luscious when styled (plus it smells amazing). —Jessi Wilson, editorial intern

After using this product and blow drying, my hair feels soft and seems easier to style than if I didn’t use any products in my hair. My only complaint is I wish the nozzle had some way to control the amount of product that comes out, but that’s definitely not a deal-breaker. —Jessi Wilson, editorial intern

As someone who plays with my hair throughout the day, it was lovely to use a product that wouldn’t leave my hands feeling sticky after a quick midday restyle. The only downside is the initial scent, reminiscent of a department store’s perfume counters. Thankfully, it faded after a few minutes. – Sarah Sager, contributing writer

Consider me a convert, a believer in the mythical qualities of oils and gold. After one wash with the shampoo and conditioner, my hair was noticeably brighter. It took more product than usual to fully lather and condition my hair, and I’ll admit I followed up with a leave-in conditioner due to a bit of dryness, but overall I would recommend this product.
