Bohemian Half-Up Fishtail Braid Tutorial
by Alyssa Edwards
This fishtail braid tutorial is a mixture of a half-up look and a fishtail, and it will take you 5 minutes tops! Wear this for a wedding or a casual lunch date. You are sure to turn some heads with this romantic half-up braid. Here are 3 easy steps to complete this fishtail braid tutorial.
This hairstyle is versatile and can be done on either clean or dirty hair and on straight or curly hair. For a more dressed-up version of this fishtail braid, try it with loose curls. Start by brushing the hair through so there are no tangles.
1. Take a section of hair from each side, and twist. The twists should be tight enough to hold the twist but loose enough to match with the undone look of the fishtail braid. Secure the two twists with a clear elastic.
2. Pick up the small pony, and take a chunk of hair underneath the pony tail. This ensures that the fishtail braid will look thicker. Fishtail braids are one of the easiest braids to accomplish. Split the ponytail into two sections, take a little piece of hair from the right hand and add it to the left. Do the same exact thing with the left side, and keep alternating until you have braided two inches from the end of the pony tail. Secure the fishtail braid with a clear elastic.
3. Pull the fishtail braid apart to make it appear somewhat messy and more full. The easiest way to do this is by tugging each section to loosen. Finish with hair spray.
