Fall 2013 Hair Color Trends: The Hues You Want This Season

Say bye-bye to over-processed hair and hello to the lovely tones and trends of fall. Fall 2013 hair color trends transition from cool tones to warm hues and are inspired by softer hair color placement. This autumn, ditch the ombre trend and try a soft balayage technique. This new look paints highlights around the face and ends of your strands, so you can slowly say goodbye to those summer highlights.

Looking for fall hair color inspiration? You don’t have to search far. Gaze outside at the leaves morphing into deep shades of honey butter, warm browns, burnt copper, mocha, and caramel, and let your locks mimic this colorful palette. Here's our guide to the fall 2013 hair color trends.

Buttery Blonde
All you blonde bombshells should leave the bleach behind and opt for a buttery blonde or a soft warm honey-color hue. Ask your stylist to bump your color base to shades of gold with a few soft highlights around the face. You can find this lovely look on Blake Lively and Gwyenth Paltrow.

Golden Blonde
If you're a virgin—as far as coloring that is—then this is your time to shine. The most talked about fall hair color trend is light brown with shimmers of golden blonde. This look is sexy and completely natural looking. When trying out this style think of Jennifer Aniston’s natural-looking locks. Not a color virgin? That’s okay, neither am I. You still can achieve this look by trying an all-over warm brown while adding fine streaks of gold.

Burnt Copper
For my blossoming redheads, this year's fall color trend is all about the burnt coppers and mocha rich reds laced with golden and strawberry blonde hues. Copper screams fall, and I'm hoping you do too. Jump on this trend to get locks like Isla Fisher and Amy Adams.

Candy Caramel
If you're on the fence and not sure which hair color trend works best for you, a great starting point is candy caramel tones with streaks of gold. If it's yummy enough for Jennifer Lopez, it will get you noticed too.

Warm Chestnut Brown
Autumn can be a fun time for my brunette gals too. Nothing says drinking hot chocolate around the bonfire weather like a warm chestnut brown interlaced with caramel highlights. Add a few highlights underneath the hair and around the face to create a balayage look that will shout you are all about fall. This look has been seen on Selena Gomez this year.

Deep Brown with Mocha
Dark-haired beauties should opt for deep browns with a hint of warm mocha—think an almost black tone. Deep brown gives your hair richness without the commitment. At least two of the Kardashians will be sporting this fab fall trend—we're still trying to figure out Kim's new blonde locks.

Just because it’s cooling off and time to bundle up to go outside, don’t be afraid to try any of these fun fall trends. What are you waiting for? Go see your stylist today.
