How to Use a Hairpin

Perfect your updos with the proper use of a hairpin. This close cousin to the bobby pin is better suited for hairstyles when you don't want the pins showing.

Start by scooping into the hair with both prongs of the hairpin. Begin at the outside of the bun and weave the pin in and out of the hairs towards the base—like a needle when you're sewing. Keep adding pins until the hairstyle feels secure. If the hairpins don't show you did it right!
