Watch This Beauty Enthusiast Create Heatless Waves Using Dish Sponges

Instagram star Charmie Janee shows how to get flawless, heat-free waves using a totally unexpected household object.

We're no strangers to heatless curls. Whether it be no-heat sock curls or braid waves, we've tried them all. But we'd never thought that this simple kitchen tool had the potential of creating flawless, perfect-for-summer waves. Instagram beauty enthusiast, Charmie Janee proves how simple and effective dish sponges can be to get a perfect head of curls—with minimal effort.

In a short video tutorial, the social media star starts by diving her hair into 1-inch sections, carefully wrapping each one around a dish sponge. "I noticed the thicker the hair, the bigger the sponge you need to use, but my hair is thin so I used the small ones," she says in the caption.

Using a rubber band, she then secures her hair in place around the sponge. "If you have thicker hair I would recommend using actual hair ties, and not elastics, to bring the sponges together," she says. After repeating the process with all of her hair, Janee recommends letting the curls set overnight. In the morning, she unravels the tightly spiraled coils to reveal gorgeous waves that rival those you'd get with a curling ironing. Take a look for yourselves:
