Grab aerosol hairspray—it will coat your strands more evenly—and start at the roots. First, run your fingers through a section of your hair and lift it straight up from your scalp. Evenly mist hairspray on the roots of that section. When spraying hold the can at least six inches from your scalp, this will decrease spray stiffeness, but keep the hold so you can rock your hairstyle all day long.
