5 Quick and Easy Ways to Style Your Bangs

As anyone who's tried to grow out their bangs knows, there comes a time when we want nothing more than to throw in the towel and take scissors to them. We get it. But take a deep breath, set the scissors down, and try looking at this growing-out period as an opportunity to try a creative new 'do.

While you may simply be looking for a way to keep them out of your face, you can also embrace this chance to switch up your style. I’ve created five easy ways to style your bangs and each one takes less than five minutes. Try one the next time you've reaching the breaking point and grow out your fringe in style!

Make a Dutch braid but pick up hair from one side only. Use some of the longer hair on that side to help you continue the braid all the way down as you blend in the shorter lengths. If you're not sure how to make a Dutch braid, check out this tutorial.

Take two strands of hair from one side of your head. Twist the two strands in the same direction while you also twist them around each other in the opposite direction. Pick up some of your longer hair as you work your way toward the back and blend in your shorter bang pieces. Make the same twist braid on the other side of your head and secure with an elastic band in the back.

Take two strands of hair next to each other, change position on them. Add some hair to the strand towards your face and change position again. Repeat a couple of times and secure with an elastic band. If your bangs are still pretty short, you may want to secure your twists with a hidden bobby pin or two to keep the ends from slipping out.

Take all of your bangs and pull them towards the back of your head. Add as much volume as you crave and secure them with bobby pins. Cross the bobby pins for extra hold.

Do any type of braid you’d like and secure it under the hair in the back to hide the ends. This works best if you blend your shorter bang sections with some longer strands and do a tight braid to keep the shorter bits in place.
