Top 4 Fall and Winter Hairstyles to Try

Temps have dropped but that doesn't mean your hair can't still be hot! Here are my top four must-try hairstyles—along with a bonus how-to—for the fall and winter months. It’s time to get beautified girl!

Long Bobs
Long bobs are one of hottest trends this fall. Everyone seems to be chopping their locks this year. We've been seeing this hairstyle on super stylish celebs such as Jessica Alba and Olivia Palermo—I have serious hair envy! This look works well for just about anyone and is fairly low maintenance.

Wear it chic by blow-drying it sleek with a paddle brush. Add a little serum to the ends to keep it looking super polished.

Want to tousle it up? Throw a few waves in it with a 1-inch curling iron, but make sure to stay away from the very ends. Give it a second day hair feel by simply spritzing with some spray wax while blow drying it on a high heat setting.

Braided Hairstyles
It's no secret that braided hairstyles have been trending for awhile. This season braided trends are all about undone texture. Wear this style casual as well as dressed up for any formal function. This fall some of the hottest braided trends have been the braided crown and the side braids.

Style your hair in a sassy side braid like Whitney Port by gently massaging the hair out of your braid to loosen it and give it the ultimate undone feel. For hold, finish off this look with a medium-hold hair spray.

For the braided crown look, add a few waves to your hair and simply drape a braid from behind your ear across the front of your hair. Secure the hair with a bobby pin. If your braid isn't long enough to reach the other side of your head, simply create another braid on the opposite side of your head and drape that braid over to the other side. Check out my full tutorial here!

Low Ponytails
Whether it’s chic and sleek or tousled and wavy, low ponies are hot to trot this season. Have more prominent facial features? Opt for a soft tousled low pony like Kate Hudson does. This hairstyle is low maintenance and will work beautifully with second day hair, too. For a tousled look, curl your entire head of hair with a 1-inch curling iron but make sure to stay away from the very ends. It keeps your hair looking longer. To finish off your pony, wrap a small strand of hair around the base and secure it with a bobby pin to hide the elastic.

If you like a sleeker look, take a cue from Beyonce and work a little gel into your hair before combing it back into an elegant pony. Use a flat iron to make you hair super straight if it's not already, then take a small strand of hair and wrap it around your the base of your ponytail for a more polished look. Make sure to secure the strand of hair with a bobby pin.

Glamorously Curled Hair
The holidays are right around the corner and soon you’ll start to see gorgeous old Hollywood-inspired glamour waves. This look was all over the red carpet this year on hot celebs like Sienna Miller and Amanda Seyfried . The best part is that it’s oh-so-easy to achieve salon-worthy glamour at home. Curl your hair in the same direction all the way around your hair, comb it out, and watch your hair take a gorgeous "S" shape that makes this look glamorous! Help set your "S" formation for ultimate hold by placing a pin curl clip in it while it cools down.
