My skin looks brighter and plumper. It's kind of hard getting used to a spray rather than slathering on moisturizer, but I might be a convert. —Hilary Abrahamson, editorial intern

After reading glowing reviews of these lip colors—4.4/5 stars based on 80 reviews—I was super excited to give them a try. I tried Magenta Plum, a rich and warm raspberry color, and instantly fell in love. The formula applied smoothly, thanks to the combination of sunflower wax, vitamin E, and the Julep-exclusive Power Cell Complex, and lasted for hours without drying out my lips. I had to reapply after lunch, and even then the formula swiped easily and didn’t bleed. –Abby Gilman, staff writer

The CC cream goes on smoothly and the coverage is buildable—one coat evened out my skin tone and blended seamlessly with my natural skin color and texture, a second coat covered my freckles without looking caked on. The product lasted all day without separating or wearing off. The only downside is that the CC cream is only available in “Light” and “Medium.” It’s perfect for my pale skin, but may be hard for girls with darker complexions to find a match. – Hilary Abrahamson, editorial intern
Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System, $35
What It Is: Too Faced Better Than False Lashes kit is a three-step lash lengthening system that creates the look of falsies. The set includes one tube of mascara for both top and base coat and a tube of Flexistretch™ nylon lash fibers.
Why You Should Try It: Stop paying for expensive eyelash extensions because this product really works! I’m super impressed by these lash fibers and find myself wearing them almost every day because they’re so easy to use. I’ve had so many compliments and people actually thinking that I’m wearing fake lashes. I’ve tried other lash fibers in the past but these are by far my favorite. I was hesitant to put these on since the fibers are white but the color (or lack of it) is actually a perk; you can see exactly where you need to add more fibers and where you have enough. The only downside to this product is that they can flake a little throughout the day. But let’s be honest, what mascara doesn’t flake a little? —Katelyn Herlein, e-commerce editor
neuLASH Lash Enhancing Serum, $95
What It Is: neuLASH Lash Enhancing Serum is packed with vitamins, plant extracts and peptides. This serum will sooth, protect, hydrate and produce fuller, healthier looking lashes in as little as four weeks.
Why You Should Try It: Like most expensive beauty products, I was hesitant about it actually working, but I was pleasantly surprised. After only two weeks of using neuLASH I could already start to see my lashes getting longer. After one month, I had people asking me if my eyelashes were fake. neuLash really did make my lashes grow longer. I also felt my mascara was going on smoother and my lashes felt stronger. The only downside is if you stop using it, your lashes do shrink back down a bit. The bigger 0.2 oz tube lasted about 7 months, making it a bit more cost effective than the 0.1 oz tube. —Katelyn Herlein, e-commerce editor
RevitaLash Volumizing Primer & Volumizing Mascara, $24 each
What It Is: RevitaLash Volumizing Primer and Volumizing Mascara work together to give your lashes volume and length with staying power. The hourglass shaped brush defines every lash for a clump-free finish. Plus, the formulas are never tested on animals.
Why You Should Try It: I’ve tried many types of mascara and am always searching for the perfect formula and brush combination to tame my unruly lashes. While I’m not ready to say this is the perfect duo, I am a huge fan of the RevitaLash primer and mascara. My eyelashes looked longer, fuller and separated—so much so that I received compliments on them! Through trial and error, I learned a few tricks for getting fuller lashes: Apply the volumizing mascara while the primer is still wet; and build up the primer by moving the brush back and forth at the roots and pulling up through the ends of lashes. Also, don't combine primer with different brands of mascara; my eyelashes ended up a clumpy mess when I used Maybelline Full & Soft with the RevitaLash primer. –Abby Gilman, staff writer

While I was a little skeptical of a sheer color—I’m normally one for deep, highly-pigmented hues—I was sold when I saw how buildable these shades are. In fact, I started wearing the neutral hues when I was going for a no-lipstick look, just because my lips were so moisturized when I wore them. The natural vanilla mint flavor didn’t hurt either. –Morgan DeBoest, editorial intern

Why You Should Try It: It’s been a while since I've used a makeup remover that wasn’t in the form of a wipe; I'd forgotten how much more effective they can be. I first tried the Chantecaille Rose Eye Makeup Remover with a cotton ball, and it only took a few swipes to get all my eyeliner, mascara, and eye shadow off. When some areas proved hard to remove, I dipped a Q-Tip into the bottle and used it for a more precise application. Less is definitely more, so the little bottle will last a long time. Additionally, the blue cornflower and chamomile really calm the eye area down and soothe the skin, so it's perfect to use before bed. –Morgan DeBoest, editorial intern

Gentle Bees Chapstick, $6.99 for 2
What It Is: Derrick Frohne designed Gentle Bees chapsticks to resist the high temperatures in Texas, after his fiance's chapsticks kept melting in the car. Why You Should Try It: Give Gentle Bees a round of applause! Their products are all hypoallergenic, cruelty-free, vegan, eco-friendly, and biodegradable. Awesome! And these chapsticks are awesome, if you're looking for an all-natural, durable chapstick with UV protection, unless you like your chapsticks light. Gentle Bees chapsticks go on heavier than other chapsticks—you can really feel the waxiness—but it does leave your lips feeling moisturized and protected. What It Is: This Paul & Joe holiday collection consists of an eyeshadow and a lip/cheek duo in a floral, vintage-inspired makeup bag. The eyeshadow is a trio of shimmering nude and bronze shades, and the lip and cheek color is an orange-red hue in a lip gloss tube with a doe foot applicator.
Why You Should Try It: I loved almost everything about this, namely that it’s perfect for travel and the colors would work in any season—not just during the holidays. When used separately, the eyeshadow trio can create a dimensional, smoky look, or they can be swirled together to create a universally flattering bronze shade. I was surprised to find I liked the lip and cheek duo more as a blush. The applicator and texture seemed out of place when I first applied it to my cheeks, but it blended well and has a natural glow. The finish is matte, so it can make dry winter lips look flaky if you aren’t careful. And, of course, as with all Paul & Joe products, the packaging is adorable. —Hilary Abrahamson, editorial intern

These shadows are neutral enough for anyone, from cool skin tones to olive complexions to darker skin. Osmosis CC Cream with Japanese Peppers & Reflective Lifting Technology, $38
What It Is: The Osmosis CC Cream is a natural-looking color correcting makeup that will transform your skin. It offers UV protection and reduces age spots while giving skin a bright even tone with lifting and hydrating benefits. True Tone Technology is natural makeup encapsulated in micro-capsules that burst to provide perfect pigments that match and enhance your own skin tone when applied. Light Lifting Effects diffuse skin discoloration while giving the enhanced appearance of a brighter, more youthful complexion.
Why You Should Try It: If you’re looking for a light-weight, natural foundation, try this cream. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first dispensed the cream onto my hand—it was an off-white color with little dots. But as I applied the cream to my face, the dots exploded and mixed in to create a new shade that perfectly matched my skin tone. I felt like I had nothing on, but had a perfect skin tone with no pesky red areas or dark under-eye areas. Sometimes CC creams can feel a little heavy, but not this one. Definitely recommend. –Morgan DeBoest, editorial intern
