by Sidney Burds
We can’t stop daydreaming about Queen Bey’s performance last weekend. Now, her makeup artist Sir John is giving us exclusive info about how to obtain Beyoncé’s Coachella look.
If you haven’t yet heard or seen Beyoncé’s performance at week one day two of Coachella last weekend, you must be living under a rock. Fans were hailing Queen B and pronouncing the festival now be called “Beychella.” She had a historic performance as the first black female to headline Coachella, with numerous black culture references throughout, five outfit changes, and a fierce makeup look that you too can achieve.
Whether or not you were lucky enough to witness history in action, we can all achieve her flawless beauty. (No seriously, you can.) Beyoncé’s celebrity makeup artist Sir John is spilling the details on how anyone at home can achieve Queen B’s glowing Coachella look. All it takes is a quick trip to your local drugstore.
For her major festival moment, Sir John wanted to bring focus to Beyoncé’s eyes. According to a press release, for the shadow he created a mixture of two glitter eyeshadows on her lids: a copper color and an iridescent purple. For eyeliner, Sir John first lined Beyoncé’s eyes with a MAC coffee-colored liner on bottom and then went over the top with a black liner.
After the lids were done it was all about the lashes! Sir John wanted Beyoncé’s lashes to look full and voluminous and went with L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise for the mascara. He simply curled her lashes and layered on the mascara to achieve what he refers to as a “super feathery, voluminous look.”

Sir John laid a base of foundation and concealer on Beyoncé’s skin, and proceeded to contour her cheeks, eyes, and jawline with Tom Ford bronzer. As for highlighter, he chose L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Shimmerista Powder in Sunlight. He strategically applied it to Beyoncé’s cupid’s bow, bridge of her nose, and cheeks.

Finally, he finished the look with a soft nude lip that would last from start to finish of her performance. He chose L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Les Chocolat Liquid Lipstick in Dose of Cocoa, a smooth pinkish-brown shade that he applied directly from the tube after lining her lips.
