Fabulous Lips for a Steal: Drugstore Lip Gloss
Right now, there are a ton of drugstore lip glosses I’m stocking up on and you should be, too.
There's nothing that cheers me up more than buying a new lip gloss. Sure, I like buying products everywhere, but drugstore lip gloss holds a special place in my heart. It's inexpensive and the quality is surprisingly good. Plus: it's fun to run into CVS for something boring like toilet paper and walk out with a fabulous new shade of gloss. Here are three of my favorites:
Maybelline's Baby Lips Dr. Rescue glosses are awesome. In fact, at $5 each, I'm buying them in multiples, so I can have one in each of my bags. I love that they have menthol and eucalyptus in them, which keeps my lips hydrated for 12 hours. Available in six colors—a sheer balm and five shades that add slight color to your lips—they're the kind of gloss you can put on without even looking in the mirror. Perfect for work or lounging around during the weekends when you don't want to wear tons of makeup. I'm a big fan.
CoverGirl's Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss retail for around $7 and are available in 12 different shades. The glosses are moisturizing and shimmery and run on the sheer side, although some of them are definitely more opaque than others. I'm especially partial to Turn Up the Heat, a sparkly sheer red. It's the red to wear when you don't want to go full "Look at my lips!" but still want them to have a touch of red.
Unlike the first two, Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipglosses are definitely not sheer. At $10 each, they’re the drugstore gloss I grab when I want a pop of color because they're bright and fun. They're sticky, but not too sticky so your hair won't get stuck to them like glue (a serious pet peeve of mine!), and they're shiny. I love Pink Pop—it's my go-to pink gloss at the moment.
