Get the Look: Felicity Jones’ Stunning Smolder

At the Hollywood premiere of her new film Like Crazy, British starlet Felicity Jones showed everyone what star style’s all about with her classic smoky eye/nude lip combo. Complete with a beautifully undone fishtail braid, this is one look that’s too gorgeous not to try.

1. Do a Big-Time Smoky Eye
Use coordinating shadows with just a hint of shimmer for a mega-glam effect. The limited-edition Chocolate & Gold Eye Paint Palette from the Bobbi Brown Holiday 2011 Party Collection ($45, Bobbibrowncosmetics.com) features four richly pigmented shades with a grown-up amount of sparkle. Start by sweeping the bronze shadow across the lid. Apply the chocolate brown along the upper and lower lash lines, then wet your liner brush and use the same shadow to tightly line the upper lid. Use the black gold eye shadow in the crease for definition, and the light champagne gold on the brow bone as a highlighter. Finish with black mascara.

2.  Keep Your Other Makeup Neutral
Complement a statement-making eye look by finishing your face with peachy neutrals. Try a blush/bronzer duo, with a bright blush shade for highlighting and a darker bronzer in the hollow of your cheek for definition. e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder ($3, Eyeslipsface.com) creates mega-chiseled cheekbones. Apply a shiny, sheer gloss like Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Midnight Cowboy ($19, Urbandecay.com) to finish the lips.

3. Go for “Done, but Undone” Hair

Felicity’s gorgeous braid looks high-fashion, but still low-maintenance. To mimic it, start with clean, air-dried hair. Spray with a texturizing spray like Oribe Après Beach Wave & Shine Spray ($35, Oribe.com) onto locks and run your fingers through to distribute. The key to creating style with hold is to apply product before you start, so that the hair stays in place as you work. Make a casual braid, and the Shine Spray helps keep hair tousled, piecey, and shiny.
