Get the Look: Lily Collins, the Fairest of Them All
“Skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony.” That’s what Snow White is supposed to look like, and Lily Collins’s interpretation of this fairytale beauty look was something fierce. Taken down just a notch and peppered with cool details like shimmering eyes, her look at the Hollywood premiere of Mirror, Mirror was both magical and modern.
We talked to makeup artist Kayleen McAdams about how to get it.
1. Skin as White as Snow
To create an alabaster complexion, McAdams started by applying Shu Uemura Stage Performer Instant-Glow, which added extra translucence and dewiness to Lily’s already-great skin. Next, she added Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint and Clé de Peau Beauté Refining Fluid Foundation SPF 24 to even out skin tone and cut down on shine, setting the skin with CoverGirl Clean Pressed Powder.
2. Lips as Red as Blood
Lily’s just-bitten lips are one step down from stark blood-red, but they’re perfect with her hair hair color and greenish eyes. McAdams used Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Sublime. On the apples of Lily’s cheeks, she mixed Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Color in Fresh Ginger and NARS Blush in Gaiety to create a peachy-pink glow.
3. Eyes as Sparkly as Gold
OK, so it’s not part of the fairytale, but Lily’s glittering eye makeup look was seriously cool! Not to mention that it’s easy to accomplish. Start with an eye shadow primer like Too Faced Shadow Insurance to help shadow stay. McAdams dabbed on a single greenish-gunmetalish-gray shadow, Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Epatant, followed by two coats of Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara.
