Amp Up the Color with this Radiant Orchid Makeup Look

Radiant Orchid was the Pantone Color of the Year in 2014 and it's still a popular hue, especially in the spring. This unique shade isn't quite pink, nor is it purple. What is clear is that it's far more wearable than you might think, especially in your makeup! This is a universally-flattering hue.

Radiant Orchid on your eyes will absolutely light up every eye color. For lips, radiant orchid is the perfect bold without being obnoxious or intimidating. Check out the video tutorial to see how I used Radiant Orchid:

Step-by-step directions to create Radiant Orchid eyes and lips:

  1. Sweep a matte, light brown shade into the crease.
  2. Press a champagne-toned pink shadow onto entire lid.
  3. Pat an orchid-toned shadow on the outer third of the eye.
  4. Use a blending brush to sweep the orchid shadow into the crease and toward the center of the lid.
  5. Line the upper lash line with a black pencil liner and smudge out.
  6. Line the lower lash line with a purple pencil liner and smudge out.
  7. Brighten up the inner corner of the eye with a pearly white shadow.
  8. Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes.
  9. Apply purple false lashes if desired.
  10. Apply a satin-finish orchid lipstick.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, but it's creating works of art on faces that I love most. By day, I am a Senior Education Consultant for Sephora as well as a freelance makeup artist. The rest of the time, I'm creating content for my makeup and beauty blog, Wake Up for Makeup, reading product reviews, watching tutorial videos and reading makeup artist books. I live and breathe this stuff and if you could eat makeup, I'd probably do that too. I also love painting abstracts, running, attending music festivals and acting weird with my husband and our two awesome cats. I'm here to tell you what products are legit, how to better use the ones you have, give you ideas to shake up your routine and guide you through some fun tutorials I know you can dominate.
