Pretty, Please! Pretty Pastels for Easter

The products I'm coveting…this week, anyway.

My house is full of chocolate bunnies, my purse is full of Peeps, and I am dusting off my best bonnet. It’s Easter time, and I am ready.

That means switching up my usual springtime makeup routine (poppy and punchy) with colors that are soft and feminine. Pastels tend to look good on just about everyone, which is a lucky thing this time of year, when at least 25 percent of womanity decides that a gentle wash of lavender shadow on the eyelids is just the very most.

I’m gearing up to wear these lovely, ladylike colors, all in creamy or matte textures (the most fabulously feminine, dontcha know). And then once my lips are lined with just the right shade of pink, I’m gonna smash a Cadbury Crème Egg into my mouth while I can.

Nicole by OPI Nail Lacquer in Alex by the Books—From this spring’s Modern Family-themed collection, Alex by the Books is the perfect mint shade for this season. ($6.67, drugstore.com)

Make Up For Ever Star Powder in Periwinkle—Swoosh on a little or a lot; this flexible pigment powder can be an eye shadow or blush, and it can be thin as a watercolor or as opaque as paint. ($20, Sephora)

Vincent Longo Pearl X Eye Shadow in Code 6 Pink—This shadow features a matte base and tiny pearlescent flecks of color; when you mix them together, it’s delicious. ($25, Beautybar.com)

CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Eyeshadow in Gold Sizzle—Why not try a cool lemon-yellow shadow? It looks amazing on dark skin tones. ($2.43, Drugstore.com)

Topshop Lip Crème in Witty—A shiny gloss that lasts forever without feeling like spackle…that’s what I want to find in my Easter basket. ($14, Topshop.com)
