These Kid Makeup Artists Are Better At Contouring Than We Are, And We’re Not Even Mad
by Sierra Burgos
If you like makeup, cute kids, or some combination of the two, you’ve got to see this. These talented tots are still learning how to read, but they certainly know how to understand makeup labels.
Just when we accomplish this whole contour thing and are feelin’ ourselves, some mega-talented kid has to come along and remind us that we actually kind of suck. But in this case, we’re completely okay with it, because we can’t get enough of these adorable mini-MUAs.
Molly and June are the daughters of makeup artist Courtney McCutcheon, who has an Instagram following of over 70 thousand with her fun and colorful tutorials. You can tell from her profile, @lipgloss_and_crayons, that these kiddos have watched their mom apply makeup, and taken away some tips of their own—like how to contour and blend. Can they be any cuter?
This 12-year-old taught herself how to do makeup at an early age, and despite being bullied for loving beauty, she still works it on her family’s YouTube channel Her Wife and Kids. Meet Aliyah, the pre-teen who does makeup better than all of us. She’s even a pro at doing other people’s makeup, like her mom’s. For more of her tutorials, head over to their YouTube channel.
Finally, meet Bella Rose. She makes guest appearances on the Instagram account of MUA Emily Louise (@emily._.louise), who is friends with Bella’s big sister. Bella Rose learned how to do makeup from watching Emily, and asked if she could make her own tutorial. In this video, Bella Rose takes on the “full face using only highlighter” challenge, and absolutely kills it. The girl can put on falsies better than we can.
Just in case you’re feeling inadequate after watching children apply makeup better than most full-grown women, watch these two kid-MUA tutorials for a good laugh and a reminder that you’re not being outperformed by every elementary-aged child:
Neveah, who may have over-baked her face but has the cutest accent.
And Penny, the lipgloss sniffer.
Whether they’re still learning, or full on pros, watching these kids apply makeup gives us so much life.
