Upside-Down Eyeliner Is A Trend We Are Flipping For

This year is all about switching things up, and your eyeliner is no different. Check out some of your favorite celebrities rocking upside-down eyeliner everywhere they go.

Considering everything in this world seems to be bass-ackwards and upside-down lately, why wouldn't our makeup reflect the same? Insert the latest red carpet cosmetic trend: upside-down eyeliner.

Using bold shades, celebs and makeup artists are switching directions and swiping color just under the eye to add a fun and simple pop to any look. If you're going for darker or more vibrant shades, we defintely recommend keeping the rest of your look neutral, to keep the focus on your peepers.

Take a look at how some of our favorite stars are trying out the trend.

Ready to try it out on your own? Check out this tutorial from Puffins Wife for some fabulous tips!

Step 1: Prep your eye and clean up your brow line using either primer or concelear.

Step 2: Blend a bone-colored shadow acros the top of your lid to where it meets your brow.

Step 3: Add a little more definition to your top lid with a darker, neutral shade.

Step 4: Take a neutral or black eyeliner inside your bottom waterline and slightly under your eye, flicking the outer corner upward (don't go too far down, yet!).

Step 5: Grab a darker colored eyeshadow of your choosing and start to soften the lower liner. Then take a lighter version of the color a little lower to buff and blend the color out. Alter how much product you're using and how thick your lines are depending on how dramatic you want the look to be!

Step 6: Apply mascara as usual to make those lashes match your equally-fabulous lash line!
