Winter Is Coming, but the Urban Decay x Game of Thrones Makeup Collection Is Already Here
by Caitlin White
The night is dark and full of terrors, but you can always be ready to face it with this new collection from Urban Decay inspired by the women of Westeros and the entire Seven Kingdoms.
When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. But when you play with makeup, you’ll always win with the new Urban Decay Game of Thrones collection, which has already sold out on Urban Decay and just dropped today on Sephora.com and Ulta.com. Trust me, I drink and I know things.
Inspired by the Seven Kingdoms, and specifically the badass women of Westeros, Urban Decay x Game of Thrones includes a 20-shade, 3D pop-up eyeshadow palette, highlight palette, new 24/7 Glide-On Pencils and Vice Lipsticks, a lip/cheek tint, and even brushes that mimic some of the most important swords in the series, the ones you’ll need in the wars to come. Plus, you can snag the entire UD x GoT vault that includes everything! And the shade names? They’ll have you pledging allegience to your pick for the true heir to the Iron Throne. (And when you see the gold Lannister shades, you might even be bowing down to Cersei.)
Let’s start with the real show-stopper: the new Game of Thrones eyeshadow palette. Seriously, this thing is next-level, dracarys hot.

The palette is divided into four sections, each dedicated to a Westeros power player: House Stark, House Targaryen, House Lannister, and yes even the White Walkers. Each section also has its own holographic transformer shade named for an important location for the power player: Winterfell, Bay of Dragons, Kings Landing, and Hardhome, respectively. The Stark section is imbued with the chilly grays of Winterfell with smoky mattes and neutral shimmers. The Targaryen portion pops with jewel-tone shimmers; House Lannister (of course!) with regal gold metallics, mattes, and shimmers; and the White Walkers have icy shimmers.
Urban Decay x Game of Thrones also has a new highlight palette with three shades of Afterflow Highlighter named after Daenarys’ three original dragons: Drogon (frosted pink), Viserion (metallic golden nude), and Rhaegal (metallic bronze). Needless to say, the Mother of Dragons palette is fire.

Vice Lipstick by Urban Decay has been a fan favorite for ages, but it’s about to get even better with four new shades inspired by three women of Westeros and one ultimate baddie. Sansa Stark is a warm peachy nude that imitates the eldest Stark sister’s hair color (a memorable shade according to Littlefinger!). Daenerys Targaryen is a firey metallic red after her dragonfire. White Walker is a deep berry wine (maybe because of all the blood these guys spill??). And Cersei Lannister, of course, is a bright metallic bronze inspired by the gilded family that always pays their debts.

Like the Vice Lipsticks, this new collection will also add limited-edition shades and styles of the favorite 24/7 Glide-On Pencils, which would probably stay in place through the Battle for Winterfell. The new shades are Dragon Smoke, a smoky holographic black; The Night King, a shimmery dark teal (probably because Urban Decay looked into his eyes like Jon Snow); Lannister Gold, a metallic gold; and Winterfell Snow, an iridescent white.

How fiery hot is the new Dracarys Lip & Cheek Stain? Urban Decay has us officially switching our primary language to High Valyrian with this powerful, see-through stain that gives you lips and cheek just a little bit of flush. That’s what happens when you’re the mother of dragons.
Finally, the icing on the cake of the new Urban Decay Game of Thrones collection are the two new eyeshadow brushes, each shaped like one of the series’ two most important swords (no disrepect to Brienne of Tarth’s Oathkeeper or Sam Tarly’s Heartsbane). Jon Snow’s Longclaw is a large eyeshadow brush named after the character’s Valyrian steel sword, and Arya Stark’s Needle is a sharp, precise eyeshadow brush inspired by “No One’s” little sword given to her by Jon Snow back before she was a nameless assassain.
Rock the ice and fire shades to your viewing party or a night out when you want to look as badass as Cersei, Sansa, Arya, or Dany. But, just be careful if you plan on attending a wedding…
