Urban Decay’s Limited-Edition Summer Collection Is Sure To Make Waves
by Taylor Borde
Urban Decay is heating up your summer with its limited-edition release, the Beached Collection.
We’ve seen Urban Decay turn up the heat recently with a new sultry eyeshadow palette and an ultra-shiny, holographic lip gloss, but its latest release is sure to sell out before the first day of summer rolls around. We’re talking about the long-awaited Urban Decay Beached Collection—and we have the skinny on every single product.
Urban Decay’s limited-edition summer collection is inspired by the sun, sand, and surf of the brand’s native SoCal roots. You can expect bright, beachy shades of bronze, copper, and aqua that will put you straight into vacay mode with just one swipe. The entire collection goes on sale April 27 exclusively at Ulta and Urban Decay, but the cosmetic company gave us a quick escape from our daily lives with a sneak peek of what’s to come on Instagram.
Prepare yourself for a personal paradise in the form of one beachy eye palette, two golden eye pencils, three sunkissed lipsticks, and two glowing bronzers.
The collection seems to be an extension of the last-year’s matte Beached Bronzer that offers a natural bronzy glow without risking sunburn. Following the standalone product’s sandy footprints is the palm tree packaging, inspired by the view outside of Urban Decay co-founder Wende Zomnir’s oceanside home, according to Steve Kassajikian, Urban Decay’s global makeup artist.

Next up is this tropical palette that is worthy of one (or two) days off to play with. Between Blaze (a metallic peachy-pink), Heatwave (a rusty red-bronze), and Double Dip (a bright, shimmery aquamarine), we can already feel the sand between our toes. The combination of warm bronzes, deep coppers, and bright pops of turquoise give you endless ways to channel your inner golden goddess with velvety soft shadows that will stay put through sun and sea.

It wouldn’t be a complete collection without all new shades of Urban Decay’s signature Vice Lipstick. Say hello to your new summer essentials: Tower 1 (a sheer neutral with golden shimmer), Heatwave (a bronze-metallic rust), and 100 Degrees (a sheer bright coral that’s more like a tinted lip balm). Replacing the iconic bullet case is the breezy landscape we just can’t wait to ’gram. But the brand’s addictive cream formula stays untouched, delivering the all-day lip color we know and love.

Finally, rounding out the line are two ultra-creamy 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in matching beach-bum shades. Whether you reach for Lucky (a metallic burnt orange) or Goldmine (a shimmering gold), be prepared for an instant highlight around your eyes. Or go all out and use the moisturizing formula packed with jojoba oil, Vitamin E, and cottonseed oil all over your lid for a truly stunning look.

"Beachy makeup is supposed to look natural with a pop of color," Kassajikian says, as if we weren’t already sold on the ultimate summer makeup collection.
We’ll leave you with some poolside inspiration while you get ready for summer, sans SPF.
