Your Fall Face: Adjusting Your Makeup Palette for Autumn

Football season means putting on your game face, but fall fashion season calls for putting on your fall face! The quintessential “fall face” is flushed, rosy cheeks and burgundy eye shadows like we saw in Gucci’s Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear show— don't forget deep, juicy, berry lips.

What I adore about fall beauty is the potential for amped-up drama. You can take the eyes and lips a bit deeper, the textures more matte, and the finishes more velvety and soft.

Add more blush than you normally would, pick a lip color two shades darker than what you’re usually attracted to, and try a burgundy shadow worn smoky and sooty on the eyes, accented by black liner. You’ll be the beauty beside the bonfire this season for sure.

A product I love for creating this look is Benefit’s new blush, Rockateur. It’s described as a rose gold and is much deeper in shade than your peachy pink summer blushes.

The Too Faced Loves Sephora 15 Years of Beauty Palette is not especially new but it’s one of my favorite palettes ever. It’s limited edition so snatch one up before they’re gone! I wanted it because of all the gorgeous eye and cheek colors, but I was most attracted to the color “525 Market” which is a beautiful brown-toned burgundy. A burgundy/wine shadow that doesn’t make you look ill is hard to find. The shades “Piano Keys” and “Behind the Counter” are the perfect semi-matte neutrals to soften the look.

Deep berry lip colors are plentiful this season! I chose NARS Scarlet Empress for this look but there are tons and tons of gorgeous colors to choose from!

I hope you try this look and see the warm and cozy, fireside appeal it gives your face!
