by Leah Walters
When February 14 rolls around, so do chocolate, roses, and sweet treats galore. Sounds like an Instagram opportunity. Be sure your Valentine’s Day nails are ready for their close-up by re-creating one of these darling nail art looks. We’ve rounded up 28 of the coolest designs from nail bloggers to help you celebrate the holiday. The only thing harder than choosing one is deciding which filter you’ll show them off with. Happy hashtagging!
Love and Heartbreak
Manicurity created this nail art based on the theme “Love and Heartbreak.” Regardless, we love it wholeheartedly. The heart-and-dot pattern is easy to re-create with a dotting tool. Try mixing up pink and black hearts as she did, or choose one combo and run with it. If you go full-on anti-Valentine, we won’t pass judgment.
This darling nail design from Manicurator uses a couple of cool techniques to create a tweed effect. For the nude base, coat your nails with your first shade of polish and let it dry. Then, apply a second color and blot it with plastic wrap to get the marbled effect. Use a small art brush to paint the stripes and heart and finish with glitter and a matte topcoat.
For a unique manicure, mimic Will Paint Nails for Food’s stained-glass nail art. This is perfect for nail polish hoarders who want to put a bunch of colors to use. Start with your favorite polish and glitter combo; then add the stained-glass lines with a black nail marker. Carefully fill the spaces with a small brush, and presto—a mani masterpiece!
Sweet & Understated
Feeling especially feminine? Re-create Brit Nails’s understated Valentine’s Day look. Combine peachy pink nails, gold studs, gold glitter, and a delicate white pattern for a manicure that’s anything but ordinary. It’s perfect for date night and will impress friends at your Galentine’s bash.
Patchwork Heart Nail Art
This patchwork and plaid nail art by Fairly Charming makes for a playful Valentine’s Day look. She uses gray, white, and fuchsia polishes, but a combo of pink shades would be a pretty alternative. Paint the heart with the bottle’s brush, and then create the outline and stripes with a small nail art brush.
Ombré Polka Dots
Attention, nail art novices: This ombré look from Let Them Have Polish couldn’t be simpler. Pick out an assortment of pink shades, and apply them from light to dark with a dotting tool. Finish with a topcoat, and you’ll be set to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Pink & Silver Triangles
A glam date night calls for nails with a little sparkle. For this design, Honeymunchkin pairs soft pink with holographic silver for a sweet and simple alternative to your average mani. We suggest using tape to create neat lines on the triangles.

She paints on pink tips and adorns each nail with dainty hearts. Now all you need to make this Valentine’s Day perfect is a glass of French Champagne.
Keep things sweet and simple with a single heart on your thumb or ring finger. To create the heart, make three dots of polish in a triangle and drag them inward to meet each other. Whatsoever Things Are Lovely chose to paint her nails in a dazzling shade of red and then added a white heart, but you can make the look all your own with your favorite polishes.
