The 11 Best Cuticle Oils for Healthy, Hydrated and Smooth Nails
Shop Story

Cuticle oil is one of those things that I always put in the bucket of high-maintenance self care. Sure, I get my nails done every once in a while and definitely don’t want bedraggled hands, but I’ve been hesitant to add more steps and products to my routine before knowing if they actually move the dial. Well, stuck at home with no access to my local nail salon and lots of time to stare at my digits, I decided to give nail and cuticle oil a fair shot. As it turns out, I was missing an essential step in keeping my nails not only looking fresh, but healthy

The cuticle is the small layer of clear skin at the bottom of your finger or toe nail bed. The cuticle exists to keep nails healthy and protect them from fungus and bacteria as they grow, so keeping them intact (no cutting!) and properly cared for is key for overall nail health. Nail and cuticle oils are especially important if you’ve been washing your hands or using hand sanitizer more frequently (which is pretty much everyone right now), or if you live in cold, dry climates.  They are typically made up of a blend of vegetable and plant oils to not only help hydrate, but also to stimulate circulation around your nail bed, leading to longer and stronger nails overall. The best cuticle oils come in several forms, including cuticle oil pens for super easy application, and in various textures, including serums and balms.

To help you get started on your new nail-care habit, we rounded up some of the best oil for cuticles on the market that will leave you with strong, smooth, and great-smelling hands and feet no matter how long it’s been since your last professional mani/pedi.
