It's finally spring, and Easter is just around the corner. My favorite thing about Easter is, of course, the candy, and my favorite Easter candy of all time is the Cadbury Mini Egg. So naturally they inspired this Easter nail art. I love how the finished nails look just like the candy eggs. Makes me hungry just looking at them!
This design is super simple to do. Gather five pastel colors of nail polish, black nail polish, an old toothbrush, a piece of paper or a paper plate, a clear base coat, and a clear matte top coat. (The matte finish will give your painted nails the texture and consistency of the actual candy eggs.) If you don't have five different pastel colors you like, that's OK. You can do it in as many or as few colors as you like.
Let's get started!
1. Clean off your nails and apply a clear base coat before you start this design. Paint each of your nails a different pastel color. I applied two coats for an opaque look. Let them dry completely before moving on to the next step.
2. Put a couple drops of black nail polish on a piece of paper or paper plate. Dab your old toothbrush in the black polish and then dab it on the paper a couple times so that there isn't too much polish on the brush.
3. Use the toothbrush to dab on black polish all over your fingernails. Don't be afraid to get some on your skin to ensure it covers the entire nail.
4. Let the black polish dry for 30 minutes before you apply your matte top coat and enjoy!
