I love bright, psychedelic designs, but I rarely use them on my nails. So I decided to give some "mod," or modern, nails a try using retro fabric swatches as inspiration. There are so many pattern possibilities that you could paint thousands of funky nails and never have the same look twice!
1. Paint your nails with a light pink. I used Barry M's Kiss Me Quick. Then, using a striping brush, paint a few waves—as shown—with a warm white, like Barry M's Cotton.
2. Using a thin striping or detailing brush, line the white waves with red. Make sure your lines meet in the middle, leaving just a peek of pink between them.
3. For a different mod pattern, use a dotting tool and white nail polish to add big dots to your nails. Of course, you may choose to do the wavy design on all five nails or leave the alternate nails blank.
4. Fill in the center of the white dots with red dots. When the design is completely dry, apply a topcoat to seal it in, and you're done! Pair these retro nails with an adorable minidress for a look that's sure to impress.
