New York Fashion Week didn't inspire just clothing trends for fall 2015. As one of the most fashionable weeks of the year, it left us with an overwhelming amount of stylish nail ideas to try. Here are our 12 favorites.
Gold Leafing
Sponge a gold polish onto a dark green, satin base coat to re-create this look, which was designed to match the fabrics in the Rolando Santana fall 2015 collection.
Opal Polish
Zoya created a custom white opal nail polish for Rachel Zoe—they named the polish “Zoe,” of course—to go along with the models’ 1960s-inspired beauty looks.
“Star Wars”-inspired
"The nail look was inspired by 'Star Wars' and the really beautiful sunset scenes from the movie," says Alicia Torello, the Zoya nail technician who created this look for Mara Hoffman. "The look reflects the earth tones, '70s colors, and vibe of the collection."
Gunmetal
Jamberry created this custom black nail wrap design with a matte glitter finish for the Nicholas K show.
Feathery Nail Art
Dark, simple nail art with white feather accents on the thumbs complemented the lush, metallic Bibhu Mohapatra collection.
Mod & Grey
“The Zimmerman show features a fresh take on a classic gray nail by adding a chic satin finish,” said Rebecca Isa, creative director of Zoya.
Bronzed Age
Models for Zang Toi had an 8-to-2 manicure, meaning eight nails were painted a solid bronze color and two accent nails were a glittery version of the same hue.
Sun Goddess
The Malan Breton fall 2015 collection was inspired by the sun, moon, and cosmos. So it makes sense the corresponding nail look was also designed to mimic rays of sunshine.
Delicate Cross Design
Soft but edgy, this mauve manicure paired perfectly with Erin Fetherston's youthful collection. We just love the delicate, gold cross design on the ring finger.
Au Naturel
Designer Greg Lauren says he wanted his models’ manicures to represent the best versions of their natural nails. To achieve this, the nails were perfected with a natural satin finish.
Chevron Print
Models at the Kaelen Fashion Week presentation wore chevron manicures, which will remain a go-to nail look for fall. Choose a soft, pinkish hue to keep this design looking sophisticated.
Ombre
To go with Christian Siriano’s jungle-inspired collection, his models rocked a steely blue-to-black ombre nail design.
