A Tutorial to Toast: Fun Nail Art for the New Year
Mark the new year with a celebratory mani. This New Year’s nail art will have you raising a glass to 2015 in style!
The new year is about more than flipping a calendar page. It's a time to reflect on things that have happened, wishes for the future, and the rhythmic march of time. So much has happened in my life this year, and there is much to come next year, but for now I'd like to reflect on New Year's nail art that makes me happy, pointless resolutions that will not be kept past January 3, and fun times spent with friends and family. You'll need nail polishes in black, silver glitter, white and gold, a thin nail art brush, a sponge, and a topcoat to get this fun mani.
1. Paint your nails black and let dry. Using a sponge and silver glitter nail polish, create a glitter gradient.
2. Using a thin nail art brush and white acrylic paint or nail polish, write "Happy New Year" across one of your nails. I found it easier to fill in the centers of the "a" and "o's" later with black polish, as I messed up the white a bit.
3. Using white acrylic paint or nail polish, paint two champagne glasses.
4. Using a thin nail art brush and gold nail polish, fill in the champagne glasses and add stars. Finish off with a topcoat to seal in your New Year's nail art.
