When you’re a Trump everything in your world is first class. So it should come as no surprise that when The Donald’s wife, Melania, decided to launch her skincare collection—Melania Caviar Complexe C6—her products had to meet the highest standards.
DivineCaroline: You have officially entered the world of skin care! Tell me about that and why you got involved.
Melania Trump: When I was a model I used to travel all around the world and work in all different climates. Because of all the changes my skin experienced, I got to use many products on the market to keep my skin looking healthy.
DC: With so many choice out there, what sets Melania Caviar Complexe C6 apart from the others?
MT: I use caviar, which is imported from the south of France. It helps keep the skin smooth because caviar has fatty acids like Omega-3 and Omega-6. It also contains a lot of water, which keeps the skin hydrated.
DC: Tell me about the items in your line.
MT: There is the Fluid Day Serum, which feeds the skin with the nutrients that skin tends to lose. The Luxe Moisture, which helps improve deep expression lines while providing extra moisture to the skin. The Luxe Night contains vitamins A and E to rejuvenate the skin. The Cleansing Balm helps awaken the skin by removing makeup and excess dirt and The Exfoliating Peel has a 7-in-1 formula that cleanses, exfoliates, and helps smooth the skin.
DC: This collection wasn’t something you simply attached your name to. You have actually been researching this for 10 years. Tell me about the process.
MT: Yes I have been researching this for 10 years and working with a team of chemists. I also pulled together a lot of different vitamins and began mixing them together to see which combination would give women the best results. I learned the vitamins A, C, and E are extremely important to a woman’s skin.
DC: Your creams are made with Caviar Complexe C6 with Lipid Matrix Receptor Technology. Can you define what that means?
MT: The technology is the way the products are put together. Using my form of technology I can put all of the essential ingredients into my products so it will keep a woman’s skin looking healthy and beautiful at any age.
DC: What are the benefits of using these products?
MT: It keeps the skin firm, looking youthful, and it helps the skin keep its elasticity.
DC: Let’s talk about cost. Are these products affordable to the average woman?
MT: I wanted to create an anti-aging skin care line that every woman could afford and is easy to use. My products range in price from $50 to $150. By giving the busy woman a product that isn’t too expensive plus products that can work within her lifestyle I hope it will encourage women take care of themselves because great skin empowers you to look great.
DC: Where is your merchandise being sold?
MT: Lord & Taylor.
DC: Who are these products ideal for?
MT: Anybody age 25 and up. Plus, these products are also good for men because they contain collagen boosters, antioxidants, and proteins.
DC: Do you make Donald use them?
MT: He has used them a few times.
DC: Aside from using items such as these, what else can women do to keep their skin looking youthful?
MT: Stick to a regimen. For instance you should always clean and moisturize your face every morning and every night. I also recommend women should never go to bed wearing makeup because it clogs your pours and dries out the skin. I also tell women to drink a lot of water because it hydrates the skin. When you take care of your skin you prevent aging, sagging, and dryness.
DC: Does diet play a role in how the skin looks?
MT: Yes. When you eat a diet full of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants it does wonders for the skin and your complexion. I also tell people to drink a lot of water and get plenty of sleep. I also tell women never to use the cream you use on your body on your face because body cream tends to irritate the face.
DC: Tell me one of your #1 secrets to keeping your skin looking red carpet fabulous?
MT: Every day I make a smoothie filled with spinach, celery, banana, yogurt, raspberries, and Omega-3.
DC: What’s your number #1 makeup tip?
MT: Never wear too much foundation because it tends to age you.
