The Best Skincare Products For A Glowing No-Makeup Day Look

My 6-step routine to get that natural no-makeup glow.

As the resident beauty junkie here at More.com, I’ve reviewed my favorite hair mask, shared my secret for getting rid of pesky pimples, and revealed my love for this Korean cleanser. My true love falls on skincare, specifically. I go crazy for a good face serum. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of trying out makeup trends, but I’d rather invest in skincare products that will give me a natural glow instead.

In honor of No-Makeup Day, I’m showing you my daily skincare routine so you too can feel fierce leaving the house makeup-free. Who doesn’t want radiant-looking skin that doesn’t require a single BB cream. Join me and a whole slew of celebs, and dare to go bare with my six-step skincare routine for a flawless, radiant glow.

Step 1: Wash

First things first, you have to start with a fresh base to get the best results. Take off any makeup, dirt, and grime from the day with your favorite face cleanser. (Even if you didn’t wear any makeup.) My go-to is this Simple cleansing water on a round cotton pad. It’s super gentle and gets mascara smudges off in one wipe.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Nobody likes dry, flaky skin. Get rid of any rough texture with an exfoliant to reveal healthier-looking skin underneath. I opt for a micro-scrub over a sugar or plastic microbead formula to prevent any tiny rips in the skin. (Yeah, that’s a thing!) My favorite thing about this gentle scrub is the refreshing cooling sensation it gives when I wash it off in the shower. The perfect way to wake up.

Step 3: Tone

Toners are key for removing any remaining impurities. Some may claim this step is repetitive because a toner generally exfoliates as well, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Can your face really be too clean? I say not. The Pixi Glow Tonic also has ginseng and aloe that improves circulation and soothes the skin, preventing irritation. And it looks so cute sitting on your countertop.

Step 4: Brighten

What’s not to love about getting perfect skin while you sleep? Once you have a clean canvas, it’s time to re-hydrate and brighten. I prefer using a night mask either in the morning or overnight to reap the full benefits and really let the ingredients sink in. This cult-status mask from Glow Recipe has hyaluronic acid and watermelon extract that leaves my skin feeling baby-soft the next morning. Did I mention it smells just like a Jolly Rancher?

Step 5: Smooth

I am no stranger to uneven skin. I’ve suffered my fair share of stubborn bumps and sunken under eyes. To help smooth out those areas, I rely on a plumping agent to give my skin a youthful bounce that’ll make every grandma want to pinch my cheeks. I was lucky enough to get my hands on this new Moon Juice release that’s sole purpose is to fill and lift fine lines and wrinkles in a matter of seconds. It also makes your makeup go on 10 times better. (For another day, of course.)

Step 6: Hydrate

The last step is all about the oils. You have oily skin. Don’t shy away from these skincare elixirs. They’re one of the best ways to inject a final dose of moisture with just a few drops. A good oil is a great investment because they last forever. My recent obsession is this chocolate-scented oil. Literal specks of 24K gold give me a dewy glow that requires no makeup. Finish off with a swipe of lip balm and you’re well on your way to total skin confidence with a truly natural glow.
