10 Times Celebs Rocked Pants On The Red Carpet

The red carpet is known for its dazzling collection of gowns, but some celebs are living proof that opting for pants can wow the crowd, too. Here are a few of our favorite daring looks.

When gowns get boring, these bold celebs stand out on the red carpet in their suits and trousers. There is, however, such a thing as standing out in a bad way—take Ashlee Simpson circa 2000 or Fergie’s fashion disaster at the VMAs in 2004. Lucky for these ten ladies, they look just as fab in pants as they do in dresses.

1. Emma Stone, 2015 Golden Globes
Emma Stone made the Golden Globes Best-Dressed List in a stunning Lanvin jump suit complete with an oversized bow. She didn’t need accessories to amp up this look; her classic cat eye and soft curls complemented this ensemble perfectly.

2. Jennifer Aniston, 2015 Critics Choice Awards
Jennifer Aniston never disappoints, and this Gucci trouser suit and Christian Louboutin pumps wowed us all. She opted for a sexy gold chain underneath her jacket, sans shirt, and we’re definitely not complaining about it.

3. Anna Kendrick, 2015 Grammy Awards
Anna Kendrick just keeps getting cooler. Sporting a Band of Outsiders pantsuit and Jimmy Choo pumps on the Grammys’ red carpet, she nailed the perfect balance between feminine and badass.

4. Reese Witherspoon, 2015 Producers Guild Awards
Reese Witherspoon looked red-hot in her Mario BH cropped trousers, red lace tank, and Christian Louboutin heels. The Legally Blonde star isn’t new to the pants trend, however, as she rocked an all-white ensemble back in 2005.

5. Cara Delevingne, 2014 MET Gala
Cara Delevingne stepped out in a bold Stella McCartney outfit, consisting of fitted white pants and a black cut-out crop top. The best part? The theme of the 2014 MET Gala was “ball gowns,” and Delevingne still wowed the crowd with her ensemble.

6. Gwen Stefani, 2015 Grammy Awards
Gwen Stefani looked enchanting in a strapless black Atelier Versace jump suit. The unique bodice and slouchy slacks, paired with a simple updo and understated accessories, made Stefani stand out among the array of gowns.

7. Angelina Jolie, 2014 BAFTA Awards
Angelina Jolie must have borrowed from hubby Brad Pitt—only she wore it better. Jolie rocked a conservative yet sexy tuxedo suit by Saint Laurent. She makes being a style icon look effortless.

8. Lorde, 2015 Golden Globes
Lorde chose a custom Narciso Rodriguez look for the Golden Globes, and she didn’t disappoint. Her black high-waisted pants, crop top, and diamond-platinum Neil Lane choker, complete with cherry red lips, made for a chic and sophisticated look.

9. Iggy Azalea, 2015 People’s Choice Awards
Iggy Azalea donned a fabulous pair of pants when she won Favorite Hip-Hop Artist of 2015. Azalea opted for high-waisted trousers that showed off her tiny waist, as well as a bejeweled crop top. Her outfit says, “I’m so fancy. You already know.”

10. Lady Gaga, 2016 Academy Awards
Lady Gaga wowed in white this year at the Oscars. She wore a custom Brandon Maxwell strapless gown-suit, which featured a cape over wide-leg trousers. Only someone like Lady Gaga could pull off such an audacious combination. Maybe gown-suits will be the next trend?
