12 of Katy Perry’s Most Jaw-Dropping Red Carpet Looks
by Sierra Burgos
Whether it’s her wild color choices, daring cuts, or pastel hair, we love Katy’s eye-catching ensembles. No one else could pull them off like she does.
Granted, Katy Perry’s look can be unique—even a bit wacky—at times, but she still manages to look amazing on the red carpet. There’s something about her bold style that both scares and inspires us (her boobs shooting out fireworks, for example). These ensembles don’t include sparks, but they’re still just as fierce. Try not to be amazed. We dare you.
Back in 2009, Katy wore a pale pink Basil Soda gown with a rippled accent on the waist. Paired with the baby pink lip and the old-Hollywood hairdo, we think she looks like everyone’s teenage dream.
MTV Europe Music Awards 2009
The singer showed off her curves in a form-fitting Marchesa mermaid gown featuring sheer black rose detailing over one shoulder. She didn’t keep the dress on for long however; she had a series of 11 other wild outfits planned for her performance that night.
Normally we’d be like, “Why is Katy Perry wearing a bindi?” But honestly, she can pull off anything she wants. In this long-sleeve nude Zac Posen dress with a breathtaking open back, nobody can question her style choices.
Vanity Fair Oscars Party 2010
Okay, her boobs look amazing. It had to be said. The adventurous singer looks stunning in this Zuhair Murad couture red-and-nude striped dress. The print is unexpectedly flattering, and she absolutely rocks it.
Got any openings, Victoria’s Secret? Katy Perry brought out her wings for the 2011 Grammy Awards, pairing them perfectly with her Giorgio Armani gown. Fun fact: Katy brought her 90-year-old grandmother as her Grammys date!
Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Party 2012
We’d like to see anyone else try to pull off Katy’s bright blue hair. In a black-and-silver Blumarine gown, the hitmaker’s blue locks add just the pop of color this ensemble needs.
2012 LA Premiere of Katy Perry: Part of Me
In a red velvet Dolce & Gabbana dress, matching pumps, and ombré purple curls, Katy Perry mixed old Hollywood with sultry and mysterious, and it totally works. We’re also curious about the piece of cake she’s holding. Is it a purse? Is it edible? We want answers.
MusiCares Gala 2013
Does this girl look good in every color?! Even in this tangerine Alexander McQueen gown, the “Roar” singer wows the crowd and makes us wish we could pull off such a daring color.
Here, Perry made a good decision to opt for simpler makeup and hair so that her Gucci dress could steal all of the attention. The form-fitting sea foam green frock complimented her features and caught everyone’s eye.
2013 LA Premiere of Smurfs 2
Smurfette looked fresh-faced and happy in this blue Tadashi Shoji dress with matching pumps. But it was her grandma who stole the show, sporting a shirt that reads, “I’ve got the hots for Papa Smurf.”
The purple hair strikes again, but this time, it’s a sexy lavender lob. The beaded knee-length dress hugged her curves in all the right places, and she topped it all off with a diamond ring rumored to be worth $2 million.
Golden Globes 2016
At this year’s Golden Globes, the “Prism” artist stunned in a gorgeous pink Prada dress with a low-cut neckline. Considering all of the colorful hairdos she’s rocked over the years, we’re surprised that Katy chose such a simple style. There may not be any fireworks in this ensemble, but she certainly still makes jaws drop.
