5 Things You Should Know About Britney Spears’ New Album
Britney Spears will release her new album "Glory" in just two weeks time. Spears' ninth studio album is her first record in three years and fans can't wait to hear all of the new tracks. Here is what we know about "Glory" so far.
Britney Spears has announced that her new album "Glory" will be released on Aug. 26. It would be an understatement to say that Brit's die-hard fans are super excited about her ninth studio release. Britney Spears' last album, "Britney Jean" was released in 2013 and had a couple of big hits—namely "Work B**ch" and "Perfume." However, the Britney Army, as we call ourselves, is ready for an album that has 12 amazing tracks with more than just one or two club-bangers.
For those who can't wait until Aug. 26, here's what we know about "Glory" so far.
1. Britney's third single, "Clumsy" is being released this week.
According to PopCrush, this is the club hit that we've all been waiting for. It's the third song to be released off of the album (first was "Make Me…" and second was "Private Show"). The site calls the bass-bumpin' tune "a dance floor pulverizer of massive proportions." We actually can't wait.
2. There are 12 tracks on "Glory" and 17 tracks on the deluxe version.
Britney Spears isn't straying too far away from what she usually does. A 12-track record is pretty typical for Britney. The deluxe version will feature an additional five tracks, though one could be a remix of another track on the album.
3. DJ Mustard is on a track.
Brit worked with DJ Mustard on one track last year. It is presumed that this song will be on "Glory." Back in November, DJ Mustard told Billboard that his track with Britney is a "motion picture" and that it's "a super big hit." We absolutely cannot wait to hear it!
4. Britney worked with a few super-talented people to get this album just right.
Producer Ian Kirkpatrick (Nick Jonas' "Levels" and Jason Derulo's "Want to Want Me"), and songwriters Chantal Kreviazuk (Drake, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson) and Simon Wilcox (Nick Jonas' "Jealous") all had a hand in "Glory," according to Entertainment Weekly. Britney Spears was also in the studio with Calvin Harris at one point (as evidenced on social media).
5. "Glory" will be the most "hip-hop" album Britney has ever released.
"It took a lot of time, but I think we brought it to a level where I was really, really happy with what I had. It's cool, it's really different. I think this is probably the most hip-hop album. Not most, there are like two or three songs that go in the direction of more urban that I've wanted to do for a long time now, and I just haven't really done that," she told Ryan Seacrest on the radio this week.
Are you as excited for "Glory" as we are?
