Ariel Winter isn't a stranger when it comes to body issues. But after this latest incident she's fighting back.

Ariel Winter took to Instagram to slam haters who body-shamed her after she posted a photo of herself wearing a bikini. The picture was of the Modern Family actress and her two nieces on a boat, enjoying some fun in the sun. However, it didn't take long for people to post some seriously hurtful comments about Ariel's body.

According to Us Weekly, the 17-year-old didn't hold back when it came to sharing her feelings on the matter.

"Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this? The height of a girl's skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for. It sickens me to think that at 17, a photo of myself with my nieces is suggesting that I'm 'asking for it.' I typically never give power to the mean things people bravely say behind their computer screens on the Internet, but this is for the girls who are constantly bullied whether it be online or at school. You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing — you are expressing yourself and don't ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequence to what you are wearing — YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Celebrate you and don't let anyone's comments allow you to think less of yourself. Us girls have to stick together," Winter wrote.

Ariel Winter isn't a stranger when it comes to body issues. Over the summer, the actress underwent breast reduction surgery, bringing her size 32 F breasts to a size 34 D. Glamour Magazine sat down with Winter who discussed her decision to change her body in such a way. She noticed that people were always talking about her "crazy cleavage" and not her acting skills, and the body image issues took a toll.

Now, however, Ariel is more comfortable in her own skin.

"It's amazing to finally feel right. This is how I was supposed to be," Ariel told Glamour a couple of months ago.

Despite the negativity that some people just can't help but throw her way, Ariel knows that she has fans who love and support her no matter what. It's those comments that she must try to focus on.

According to Today, a few fans have come to Winter's defense, posting messages of support on her recent Instagram posts.

"You are beautiful inside and out & such a wonderful role model for girls all over the world,' wrote one user.
