Sexy, Silly & Sometimes Spooky Celebrity Halloween Costumes
by More.com Editors
It would seem that the only thing celebs like more than dressing up in outrageous costumes for Halloween is posting pics of them on their Instagram accounts for all the world to see. We’re not complaining! Getting a peek at the sexy, scandalous and sometimes spooky costumes Hollywood’s famous faces don for All Hallow’s Eve is definitely a treat. Here are our faves of this year’s Halloween season.
Bette Midler went as her character, Winifred Sanderson, from Hocus Pocus and fulfilled all of our Halloween dreams. The Sanderson sisters are always a Halloween go-to and crowd pleaser, but it only makes it better when the *actual* Winifred shows up.
Colton Haynes is notorious for going all out for Halloween (just scroll through his Instagram), and this year was no exception. It took hours of makeup and prosthetics to get his signature Miss Piggy look perfected, but we think it was worth it.
Beyonce, Jay Z & Blue Ivy
It’s not enough for Beyonce to be queen in her everyday life, but she has to be queen of Halloween, too. We love this take on Barbie and Ken. It’s subtly funny and critical and still totally glamorous.
Beyonce, Blue Ivy & Tina
It’s impossible to choose which Halloween costume Beyonce rocked best, but this take on Salt-N-Pepa is fire. We love that her mom, Tina, got in on the costume. What’s better than three generations of wonderful women?
Maisie Williams & Sophie Turner
The Game of Thrones stars and besties went as “hash brownies” for Halloween. Hilarious, creative and adorable. So perfect!
Amy Schumer & Ben Hanisch
Stranger Things-inspired costumes were everywhere this Halloween, but Amy Schumer and her boyfriend, Ben Hanisch, looked perfect as Dustin and Eleven. They even brought their bikes! Now where are the Eggos?
Who doesn’t love Clueless? Kelly Rowland attended the same bash as Beyonce, donning her best plastic hat to perfect Dionne’s “clueless” look.
Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake
Seems like JT went into promotion overdrive with this Trolls costume, but it was totally adorable, even if JT and Jessica’s son didn’t want to keep his Troll hat on.
First, where did they find this cave-like rock structure? Second, this looks amazing. Ariana Grande’s signature ponytail takes this Moonrise Kingdom Suzy costume from sweet to chic, and we are totally there for it.
From the minute we saw this costume, we were gushing over it. And we weren’t the only ones! Christina Aguilera gave Kylie props for perfecting the black and bleached locks and *sexy* early-2000s chaps. Kylie FTW!
Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom
We always knew Katy Perry was a firm Hillary Clinton supporter, but now we know for sure who she and Orlando Bloom are voting for in the election. This is what we call *serious* dedication.
That makeup! The hair! Skeletons are always popular on Halloween, but Halle Berry and her daughter managed to make this look super chic and also super spooky.
Ariel Winter showed off her curves in a gorgeous Easy A-inspired black costume, complete with the A embroidered on her chest. Not only is Easy A one of the greatest movies ever, but Ariel totally slayed the look.
Nina Dobrev & Taylor Lautner
Both Nina Dobrev and Taylor Lautner used this year’s Halloween costume to poke fun at Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte and his infamous scandal in Rio. Nina’s look was complete with silver hair, gold medals and a beer can with his name on it!
Taylor Swift and her gang had their own Halloween party, with Swift getting her hands on a Deadpool costume from Ryan Reynolds, himself! That’s ‘super’ cool, if you ask us.
Hollywood’s queen of Halloween threw another major costume bash this year and took on another outrageous costume look, enduring hours of special effects makeup application to become cartoon sexpot Jessica Rabbit.
Singer Adam Lambert went all out with an eerie, ghost meets Native American character inspired by his hit song “Ghost Town.” Lambert even rocked the look during a live performance!
Beyonce, Blue Ivy & Jay Z
Bey and Jay went old school for their family Halloween costume, channeling Eddie Murphy’s 1988 film Coming to America.
Fergie & Josh Duhamel
Fergie and Josh weren’t the only celebs to dress up as legendary Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and his cat Choupette (Kendall Jenner and friend also chaneled the duo), but we’re declaring them the winners.
Our favorite dancing dad dressed up as hip-hop Pooh for his daughter’s Halloween carnival!
Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan Tatum
Channing channeled a different literary character to attend the Casamigos Tequila party with wife Jenna. They both came as The Cat in the Hat!
Fergie & Josh Duhamel
Josh and Fergie dressed up to take their son Axl trick or treating. Mom matched Axl with Batgirl and Batman costumes while dad Josh dressed as a clown!
Palmer brought the sexy this Halloween with a look inspired by Aaliyah’s “Try Again” video. She even posted a video clip of her rocking the same moves!
Ellen dressed up as unknown Kardashian sister Karla for her Halloween show, joking about her “double Ks.”
Katy Perry showed her playful side this Halloween, sharing a few looks on her Instagram account. The first? This “sad girl” look crafted by makeup artist Michael Anthony.
Neil Patrick Harris & Family
NPH, husband David Burtka, and their 5-year-old twins channeled The Force this Halloween, dressing as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. Look closely and you can see Yoda hiding under a rock.
Strong man Dwayne Johnson outfitted himself as the toughest saior of all time—Popeye! Think those biceps get even bigger when he eats his spinach?

Gigi was electrifying as bad-girl Sandy from Grease at Heidi Klum’s epic Halloween bash.
Cindy Crawford & Rande Gerber
She may be 50, but Cindy Crawford proves she’s still got it in this sexy Hell’s Angel costume. Husband Rande Gerber donned biker gear to match.
Gwyneth Paltrow & Apple Martin
Gwynnie and daughter Apple got into the Halloween spirit in matching skeleton makeup. Apple certainly has her mother’s beauty!
Jennifer Lopez & Beau Casper Smart
Lopez and on-again, off-again love Smart looked like a seriously sexy skeletal duo in designer duds at Heidi Klum’s Halloween soiree.
Funny man David Spade jumped on the highly popular New York subway pizza rat costume, sharing a bite with a pretty model at the Casamigos Tequila party attended by tons of Hollywood celebs.
Jessica and friend attended the Casamigos Tequilla party as Romy and Michele from Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, captioning her Insta photo “I invented post-its.”
Jessica Alba & Cash Warren
Rocking the same Top Gun look he wore to the Casamigos Tequila party, Cash snuggled up with Jessica’s fierce kitty.
Dancer/actress Julianne Hough channeled True Romance character Alabama for this risque look.
This costume had all the Interwebs abuzz this weekend. Katy “dropped the mic” on Halloween with this well-padded ensemble. Check out the video she posted!
Vin Diesel & Zoe Saldana
The Guardians of the Galaxy costars made Halloween a family affair, celebrating a first Halloween with Saldana’s twins and Diesel’s daughter Paulina, named after friend Paul Walker. No confirmation on whether that’s really Diesel in the furry mask, but that’s definitely Saldana and her husband in striped prisoner garb.
Paris also rocked a Barbarella look on Halloween, trick-or-treating with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘s Kyle Richards and her kids before hitting the clubs.
Paris Hilton & Nicky Hilton
The Hilton sisters and friends hit the Casamigos Tequila party as a sexy barbarian warrior and a sexy Native American. Sexy seemed to be the only common thread.
T.Swift had to work on Halloween, ending her 1989 tour in Tampa, Florida. But she brought the Halloween spirit to the stage, inviting actress Idina Menzel to join her for a performance of “Let it Go” from the Disney movie Frozen, and she rocked an Olaf the snowman costume while singing!
Molly Sims & Padma Lakshmi
The View guest co-host Molly Sims and Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi channeled Disney princesses Cinderella and Rapunzel for their costumes on The View‘s Halloween show.
Molly Sims & Scott Stuber
Sims and husband/producer Scott Stuber attended the Casamigos Tequila party as a pussycat and Chris Pratt’s character from Jurassic World.
Molly Sims, Scott Stuber & Family
Man, Molly really loves costumes! Sims and Stuber also dressed up for a kid’s Halloween party this year, with Dad and son brooks doing the Dark Knight thing while Molly and daughter Dottie were a colorful clown and rainbow.
Kourtney Kardashian & Family
Kourtney and her clan dressed up as superheros this Halloween, though true comic fans will notice that they’re mixing charaters from the Marvel and DC universes. Captain America and Spider-Man are part of the Marvel world while The Flash is definitely DC.
Kylie hit the town in a couple costumes this Halloween. The first was this ice princess look that didn’t look like it would do much to guard against frostbite.
Kylie’s second Halloween ensemble was a barely-there battle look with a serious Xena Warrior Princess vibe. Flanked by three friends Kylie simple captioned the photo “my ninjas.”
Lohan rocked a fierce feline look at a Halloween celebration at a luxury hotel in Geneva, Switzerland. Rawr!
Nicki showed off her assets in a fairy princess costume that left nothing to the imagination.
Miley and a friend teams up for this couple’s costume: a tooth and a tooth fairy! Earlier pics showed Miley wedged into a car in her costume, trying not to dent it. Looks like it got a bit crushed in transit!
