Brad Pitt Reportedly Under Investigation For Alleged Child Abuse

Post-Brangelina split, sources are reporting that Brad Pitt may have been "verbally abusive" and "physical" toward his children with Angelina Jolie.

UPDATE: Angelina Jolie has reportedly been given custody of her and Brad Pitt's six children, with Pitt allowed "therapeutic visits." According to her statement:

"We can confirm that childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago. In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother's custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest."

Pitt had filed for joint custody, while Jolie requested full custody. EOnline, however, states that Jolie's statement does not represent a legal settlement, it is a continuation of the ex-couple's voluntary agreement.

The Brangelina divorce rumors just got truly disturbing. TMZ and People are reporting that Brad Pitt is under investigation for child abuse.

Both sources allege the incident in question occurred September 14 when the family was traveling together on their private jet. Reportedly, Pitt was drinking to excess and got "verbally abusive" and "physical" with one or more of the couple's six children: Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne. TMZ reports that the plane landed at 8 p.m., where Pitt "continued his rant" on the tarmac and allegedly even tried to leave in an airport fuel truck.

According to the allegations, an anonymous source either on the plane or in the airport reported Pitt's behavior to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, and both Pitt and wife Angelina Jolie reportedly have been questioned about the incident.

The LAPD and L.A. County's DCFS have not yet spoken up about these allegations, so there has been no confirmation of the reports.

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt Monday of this week, requesting sole physical custody of the children.

Rumors have been swirling since the split-heard-round-the-world of Pitt and Jolie. Pitt has been accused of an affair with French actress and Allied co-star Marion Cotillard, which Cotillard vehemently denies, and even singer Selena Gomez has been pulled into the fray.

On September 22, the FBI released the following statement to Us Weekly: "In response to your inquiry regarding allegations within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States; specifically, an aircraft carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued."

Contrary to previous reports, LAPD had not investigated Pitt. A source reportedly told Us that the Department of Children and Family Services launched an investigation into the case. However, "after interviewing both [Brad and Angelina], they let them go."

According to Us, the FBI has jurisdiction over the case because the alleged incident occurred in airspace while the couple and their children were in route from Nice, France, to Burbank, California. Jolie is currently staying in a rental house in Los Angeles with their children.
