Emma Watson Beatboxes for Feminism, Secures Spot as the Greatest Ever

Emma Watson sat down with freestyle rapper and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda to promote #HeForShe, and the best thing happened.

We loved his Rose Garden freestyle rap with President Obama and would fly to NYC in a second for tickets to his smash-hit musical Hamilton, but our favorite Lin-Manuel Miranda moment is his latest freestyle duet. In honor of International Women's Day, he sat down with the adorable and talented Emma Watson to freestyle rap about gender equality. And Emma Watson beatboxed.

And here's a SHORT clip of Emma Watson beatboxing while I freestyle about #HeForShe, if you only have 3 minutes. This was so fun.

Yes. It took a little coercing—and spit guard training—but the Harry Potter actress layed down a nice, slow beat with the musical sensation. And, despite a fit of giggles and turning "the color of a tomato," Watson totally nailed it. But while the bum-chhh-ing actress was a spectacular, we love Miranda's message even more.

"Yo, it's Lin and I have to laugh. How can we not be equal, we're like half. Like women are like half of the people on Earth. And yes, they should have been equal since birth," Miranda improvised. "That means all day, every day, equal pay, every way, okay?"

The two united to promote He For She, the UN's women solidarity movement for gender equality, which Watson has actively supported since her 2014 speech that launched the campaign. Whether it's playing the strong female lead in the greatest franchise of our generation, speaking in front of the world's leaders, or simply beatboxing, Watson has earned her place as a feminist icon, just don't make her beatbox again.

"No one ever ever ask me to do that again," Watson closed. "These are the lengths that I will go to for gender equality."

While it doesn't sound like we should expect a Miranda/Watson album in the near future, we can certainly hope.
