Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton Expected to Release Duet
It's everything we never knew we needed.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have reportedly hit the studio together to record a song that will be on Shelton's new album! According to People Magazine, details about the new track are slim, but reports indicate that it's definitely going to be released. It's unknown if Blake will release the song as a single or if it will just be quietly released on his album, due out later this year (he just released the single "Came Here To Forget" this week).
Gwen and Blake fell in love while working together on The Voice. The two didn't hide their romance for long and could hardly stay away from each other. In fact, Gwen is sitting this season of the show out while Christina Aguilera reclaims her seat, but Blake couldn't stand to be without his lady on the show… According to Us Weekly, Blake invited Gwen back to be a mentor for his team this season… and she agreed!
"I don't want Gwen to not be on the show. Why can't we have a fifth coach?" Blake joked to Extra as Season 9 came to a close.
It is possible that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will debut their song live on the show, which would be totally awesome. It wouldn't be the first time that the coaches performed together, either. There have been some pretty cool collaborations on The Voice since it first began 10 seasons ago.
Last year, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, and Christina Aguilera performed "The Thrill Is Gone" together. And, in 2014, the coaches joined Gwen Stefani on stage to perform No Doubt's "Hella Good." Fans seem to love these performances!
Fans are excited to hear the song that Gwen and Blake recorded together as it's sure to be great. Blake's country style mixed with Gwen's rocker vibe could make for a very interesting combination.
Are you excited to hear Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's collaboration? Do you think the two will perform together during an upcoming live episode of The Voice?
