Before Her Breast Reduction, Ariel Winter “Suffered In Silence”

Breast reductions are rarely talked about, but Ariel Winter’s cosmetic procedure brought this important topic into the spotlight. Not only can breasts be painful, but they can also lead to health problems in certain cases which is why talking about it is 100 percent necessary. The Modern Family star opened up to People magazine to talk about how her breast reduction changed her life.
Ariel Winter may only be a teenager, but she has already made some big decisions in her life. Aside from career-related decisions, Winter made the courageous decision to have breast reduction surgery because her 32F size was simply too big. According to People, the Modern Family actress underwent surgery last summer to bring her breast size down to a 34D — something that just felt a bit more comfortable for her.
“I had the option to go even smaller. But I’m a curvy girl, and I didn’t want to change that. I love being a curvy girl,” Winter says. “I had the surgery because it bettered my life.”
Ariel Winter isn’t necessarily a “fan” of cosmetic surgery, but she felt that having this breast reduction was necessary for her. According to another report by People, Winter opened up about how she “suffered in silence” for many years of her life.
“Being a 5-ft.-tall girl and having extremely large breasts is really ostracizing and excruciatingly painful, but I didn’t really express how I felt about that,” she says. And, sadly, Winter felt singled out and bullied because of her large breasts.

“I’d just be wearing something anyone else could wear, but I’d read comments saying, ‘She dresses inappropriately,'” she says. “It’s important to talk about it because there are young girls suffering like I did, but there shouldn’t be a stigma about it,” Winter added.
Ariel Winter recently celebrated her 18th birthday with her Modern Family co-stars. According to UPI, the cast presented Winter with a chocolate cake while on set. Winter, who has been on the show since she was an 11-year-old, seemed to have a great time celebrating with her work fam, all of whom have been supportive of their Alex Dunphy.
