Kate Hudson Is Single And Embracing The ‘Me’ Time
by Effie Orfanides
Kate Hudson is enjoying the single life after her split from Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy. This is the first time that she will spend the holidays as a single woman in more than five years.
Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy broke off their engagement almost one year ago, and the actress has been living the single life—something that she says she’s actually enjoying—ever since. According to People Magazine, Hudson will be spending the upcoming holiday season without a significant other for the first time in years. Regardless, the 36-year-old mother of two says that she’s doing just fine on her own.
“It’s nice to get acquainted with myself alone. You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It’s to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn’t work, you can’t force things,” explained Hudson in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
Kate Hudson stays busy by raising her two kids, Ryder, 11, and Bingham, 4, and says that she really enjoys being at peace with the way things are in her life at the moment.
“It’s good to take a second to make my life about getting myself centered, clearing the energy, no overlapping. I’m at that age now. I really do feel very lucky. I’ve had my kids and my relationships. I’ve set my life down—I’m in my house, and I’m alone with my children—and I’m at peace, and that’s a really nice feeling. All I really want in my life is to maintain that,” Kate said.
Hudson seems to be doing just fine without a man. Over the weekend, Kate was at Giants Stadium with a gal pal, cheering on the New England Patriots. She posted a couple of photos to her Instagram account and appeared to be having a great time.
Kate Hudson has been linked to Derek Hough (from Dancing With The Stars) and to singer Nick Jonas over the past several months, but she maintains that she is single. She was married to musician Chris Robinson (Ryder’s dad) from 1998 through 2007 and was linked to Owen Wilson, Lance Armstrong, Alex Rodriguez, and Dax Shepard before meeting Matt Bellamy in 2010.
It sounds like this hiatus from men is welcomed by the Mother’s Day star.
