Monsters, Rejoice! Lady Gaga To Perform At Super Bowl Halftime Show
After almost a month of rumors, the singer announced the news on Twitter. We're just so glad to have a reason to finally care about football.
After weeks of speculation, Lady Gaga made waves on Twitter Thursday night with her announcement that she'll perform at the Super Bowl halftime show set for Feb. 5, 2017.

The news comes on the heels of the release of her new single "Perfect Illusion" just three weeks ago, the first new tune from the iconic songstress after almost three years of near-silence in her solo career. The track was met with mixed reviews, but made it to the number one spot on iTunes within hours of release, no surprise given her avid fan base of Little Monsters.
It's been a whirlwind year for Lady Gaga. Earlier this summer, she split from Chicago Fire actor Taylor Kinney, a move that took fans by surprise. The two called off their engagement after a five-year relationship that she frequently gushed about on social media.
We're betting that any gossip about a "Bad Romance" is squashed pretty quickly, given the star's immediate return to the spotlight. Headlining the Super Bowl halftime show is a big deal: 2015's game saw the largest audience in TV history. The record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance by Katy Perry (and the subsequent "Left Shark" internet gold that followed) will be hard to beat, but if there's anyone who can make a splash––it's Gaga.
