Classic Christmas Movies That Better Be On ABC This Year
Grab your hot cocoa and snuggle in, because here's a few of our favorite Christmas movies you need to watch this holiday season.
Recently ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas has been, well, a let down. Although we love Disney movies, we gotta say there are far better Christmas movies that fit the holiday season more than "The Little Mermaid" — especially ones where Christmas is, you know, a plot point. That being said, here's the films we hope will make it onto the schedule this year.
Santa Clause is Comin' to Town
The film that answered all our questions about the origins of Santa Claus.
Twas the Year without a Santa Clause
Santa gets sick and it's up for Mrs. Claus to save the day. Honestly it's about female empowerment, yes?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
A story that reminds us being different is important.
Grandma Got Ran Over byReindeer
You heard the song plenty of times, but this may be one of the most underrated Christmas movies.
Buddy's story of finding his father is a classic that warms everyone's heart.
Sure the sequels are great, but you just can't beat the original.
The Santa Claus
When Tim Allen accidentally becomes Santa Claus, a whole slew of shenanigans follow.
Dr. Suess's How theGrinch Stole Christmas
It's a given the most recent remake will find it's way onto the list at least five times, but we hope the classic gets shown too.
Rudolph's Shiny New Year
OK so it's a New Year's film, but it still fits—besides those ears are too cute.
Because it's just not Christmas without hearing, "You'll shoot your eye out."
Frosty the Snowman
There must've been some magic when the animators created this lovable snowman.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Is it a Halloween or Christmas movie? Answer: It's both. Definitely both.
Miracle on 34th Street
We will never stop loving this one. It reminded us to believe in the spirit of Christmas.
The Polar Express
We believe this is one of the best ones out there — especially since it started as a simple children's book.
That's our list, but of course there are hundreds of films worthy of recognition. The important thing is to watch them with those you love. We wish you a happy holiday season!
