To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You just dropped on Netflix on February 12, so naturally fans are going wild. The romantic comedy is the much-anticipated sequel to To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, which is one of Netflix’s most watched movies of all time. (If you haven’t seen this second installment, beware of spoilers below.)
In the sequel, 16-year-olds Peter Kavinsky (played by Noah Centineo) and Lara Jean Covey (played by Lana Condor) go on their first real date after pretending to date in the previous movie to make their crushes jealous. The new couple weathers its fair share of challenges. Lara Jean is self-conscious about her lack of experience as she dates “the hottest guy in school.” She also reconnects with her middle school crush, John Ambrose McClaren (played by Jordan Fisher), posing an additional threat to her floundering relationship with Kavinsky.
P.S. I Still Love You is receiving very mixed reviews, but critics can agree on one thing: Lara Jean’s outfits are on-point as always. She wears red coats, cute hair accessories and dresses fit for dating dreamy Kavinsky. Her Valentine’s Day outfit, for example, is completely over-the-top in the best way possible. Lara Jean goes all out for the occasion, donning a heart-print dress, red velvet headband and matching ankle boots that highlight her inner romantic.
Even during more casual moments, Lara Jean looks Instagram ready. She bakes cupcakes in a frilly blouse and her lucky scrunchie. Ever the overachiever, Lara Jean even looks put-together while relaxing at home. She occasionally slips into sweatpants or a hoodie, but makes it fashion.
If each Lara Jean outfit looks like the work of a perfectionist, that’s because it is. Costume designer Lorraine Carson outfitted Lara Jean in shades of cyan, magenta and yellow. Jenny Han, the YA author behind the To All the Boys books, contributed mood boards and scoured Korean boutiques for Lara Jean accessories. So much effort went into creating the Lara Jean look, which culminates in a stunning red dress she wears on a date with Kavinsky.
