Sophia Bush’s Middle Finger Response To This Creepy Guy Is Righteous Justice
by Hannah Marsh
“And in my case, stop believing that you are entitled to make me uncomfortable because you ‘watch my TV show’ so I owe you some magical debt.”
Sophia Bush went to Twitter over the weekend to take a stand for all women who want to sit and enjoy their flights in peace.
In a letter to the “random dude on a plane,” Bush pulled out all of the stops in calling him out after finding herself so uncomfortable during her flight that she even decided to move seats to distance herself from the harasser. The Twitter-sphere letter addressed the man’s obliviousness to any of the social cues she continued to give off — and that included blatantly asking him to stop speaking to her. (Kind of sounds like he thought this video might be real.)
“Stop turning around and looking at her,” the actress asserted. “Stop leaning out of your seat and towards her body when she has to grab something out of the overhead bin above her original seat, and sadly also above you, midflight.”

A mic drop would also have been an appropriate sign-off, but a perfectly placed middle-finger emoji was exactly what the letter needed to tie it all together. The Chicago PD detective is known for using her celeb-status platform to get the word out about causes she is passionate about, and we forever love her for that. Her Twitter bio states that she believes “a pencil can change the world,” and while it might be a computer cursor and 140 characters instead of a number two pencil, she is definitely doing her part in making that statement come true.
