Apparently, we weren't the only ones obsessing over Beyoncé's sixth chart-topping album, Lemonade. Country darlings The Dixie Chicks were, too. While on tour in England Saturday night, The Dixie Chicks even covered one of Beyoncé's newest and most country-inspired songs, "Daddy Lessons."

The trio performed a stripped-down version of the number to the delight of fans in Manchester. Lead vocalist Natalie Maines may have stumbled over the intro a bit. "I've already messed this whole thing up," Maines laughed. But who can blame her? The album just came out.

The Dixie Chicks' cover came after a wave of criticism that Beyoncé's "Daddy Lessons" wasn't quite Nashville enough for country music critics.

“Sure, Beyoncé’s new album Lemonade has a song with some yee-haws, a little harmonica and mentions of classic vinyl, rifles and whiskey,” CMT critic Alison Bonaguro wrote. “But all of the sudden, everyone’s acting like she’s moved to Nashville and announced that she’s country now. Just because of this song ‘Daddy Lessons.’”

It looks like the song is plenty Nashville enough for The Dixie Chicks, though, who's cover was happily received by country and Beyoncé fans alike.
