Starved for Good Fashion at “The Hunger Games” Premiere

Hunger Games! Hunger Games! Hunger Games! It’s all you hear about on the Internet these days! But the film is almost here—it opens nationwide on March 23—and last night, the stars gave us our fix of The Hunger Games infotainment at the Los Angeles premiere. The film is rumored to be breathless, action-packed, and exhilarating. The fashion? Not so much.

Jennifer Lawrence

Katniss Everdeen herself was truly the golden girl of the evening, wearing a metallic gold Prabal Gurung gown with cutouts and an open back, and even sported gold filament woven through her messy bun. She wins!

Miley Cyrus

Cyrus, whose boyfriend Liam Hemsworth plays hunky Gale in the film, showed up in a mid-drift baring gypsy outfit by Pucci, apparently not making any attempts to shed her “tacky bumpkin” reputation.

Kalia Prescott

As the extremely pivotal character of “District 3 Tribute Girl,” Prescott is taking her very first movie premiere Very. Seriously. Hey Kalia, No need to dress like you’re headed to the Oscars, because being a day-player in a YA adaptation ain’t gonna get you there.

Elizabeth Banks

In a literal and figurative bright spot of the evening, the always-adorable Elizabeth Banks rocked a tangerine-hued cocktail dress from Atelier Versace. Since she plays the out-there character of Effie Trinket and spends the movie wearing copper lipstick and a pink wig, she knew that this evening was her one chance to look hot.

Shailene Woodley

She may have been in _The Descendants_, which was set in Hawaii, but there is no reason for a girl this young and cute to resort to wearing a -satin maxi dress by Honor- muu’muu.

Leven Rambin

Bursting out of a Chagoury Couture gown, Leven shows us all why she was cast as Glimmer, a.k.a. “The Hot Chick.”

Jacqueline Emerson

Demonstrating that she has mastered Styling Rule #1: (also called the Law of Julianne Moore) red hair + green dress = smashing, Emerson, who plays a character named Foxface in the film, is ready to move on to Rule #2: Leggings Are Not Pants.

Odette Annable

We’re not sure why Odette Annable from _House_ was there, but she definitely showed all the young ’uns how it’s done, wearing a pistachio-colored Rachel Roy cocktail dress.

Kevin McHale

Kevin McHale from _Glee_ attended, both to wear an awesome shirt with panthers on it, and to remind us all that he’s not really in a wheelchair.

Isabelle Fuhrman

We love Isabelle’s gilver Oscar de la Renta gown. We also love the hot pink lips. We do not love that she chose to wear gold shoes. Tsk, tsk. Luckily, as District 2 tribute Clove, she doesn’t make it to the next movie.
