Stephen Colbert Pulled A Taylor Swift And Sang About Her Breakup With Tom Hiddleston
by Hannah Marsh
The late night host sang what our hearts were feeling.
After the news broke Tuesday that Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston’s summer lovin’ romance had officially come to an end, Stephen Colbert sang for all of us in true T-Swift fashion when he pulled out his (string-less) guitar and (fake) strummed the lyrics that we were all feeling in our hearts.
“Hiddleswift has called it Hiddlesplits,” The Late Show host began during Wednesday night’s show. “I’m especially sad about this because their love was in the press so much, I thought I was a part of it. In a way, it feels like they broke up with me.”
It was a real “Teardrops on my Guitar” moment as Colbert sang about the threesome’s whirlwind romance as “Colbiddleswift,” and photo-shopped images of the comedian pictured with the couple flashed in the background.

As we find ourselves also brokenhearted (and having much more free time) over the idea of not getting to follow the picture-perfect couple’s relationship in the press anymore, Colbert has already moved on to the best remedy for any breakup — the rebound. (See: “Colkatlandobloom”)
Besides, we can only imagine Tay-Tay’s next catchy and heartfelt album that could result from the ending of this Hollywood “love story.”
Who knows? Maybe she’ll even same some room on a track on her next album for a duet with Colbert.
